Holly Class visited Gillespie Ecology Centre for an exciting ‘Exploring Nature’ workshop. During the visit, the children took part in a minibeast hunt and discovered all sorts of creatures, including slugs, snails, millipedes, woodlice and worms. They also listened carefully to the different birds in the trees and spotted several squirrels running around the site.
To finish the session, the children learned a fun insect-themed version of ‘Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ — called ‘Head, Thorax, Abdomen!’ which was a big hit with everyone.
