Orange, Purple and Pink Classes have been taking part in a project called Writing Through Art. Each week, they have explored a painting in detail, discussing the history of the artwork, the life of the artist and the details within the painting. Once they have discussed each painting, they produce a piece of written work inspired by the art they have looked at. This has included a diary entry of a man who has gone hawking for the first time, advertisements to sell the inventions of John Joseph Merlin and play scripts with new endings for Shakespeare’s play Twelfth Night. To celebrate the end of the project, they visited Kenwood House for a tour of the galleries where all of the paintings that they have studied are on display.
