Last week Years 3 and 4 made Roman vases, many of which were on display in our end-of-topic exhibition, which everyone has enjoyed this week.

First we decided which vase type we wanted to reproduce and sketched it out. Then we coloured it in using appropriate colours of crayon to look like pottery. Next we painted over with black paint (with a few drops of washing up liquid). While they dried, we sketched our pattern designs. Finally, we used tooth picks and lolly sticks to scratch away the paint to show our designs. Why not try this yourself at home!  It’s a lot of fun.
