Did you know that you can learn about an animal’s diet by dissecting it’s poo? KS1 have been learning about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. We put our knowledge to the test this week when we were sent three samples of “animal poo” to investigate. After careful study, we were able to determine that a caracal is a carnivore because its poo contained bones from other animals. We learned that a tapir is a herbivore since its poo had fruits, berries and leaves and that a bonobo is an omnivore since we found both plants and other animals.
